Linda Appleton Monday Update: Linda had an MRI today that was very encouraging after her surgery. She is doing well after surgery. She is day to day being released from hospital based on upcoming MRIs. I just received a text from Linda “I’m finally feeling better this evening”. Keep those prayers going Cuzzins! And Austin Square and Round Dance Association
Linda Appleton Tuesday UPDATE: GREAT NEWS! Linda had an MRI today and it was CLEAR! Her tube is being removed. She continues to feel GREAT! Assuming tomorrow’s MRI is also clear, she will be discharged. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! Keep those prayers a’comin Cuzzins for continued Great Reports and Next Steps! Austin Square and Round Dance Association.

Linda Appleton UPDATE: Linda is out of surgery, in recovery. Word is “she’s doing well”. Thanks for prayers keep them a’comin Cuzzins and Austin Square and Round Dance Association . More when it is known !
Further Update: Linda has to be on her back still (Linda still for 24 hours? Her Dr. doesn’t know her) for about 24 hours. Another scan will be completed on Monday to ascertain whether she can go home tomorrow or Tuesday. Keep (praying emoji) Linda would want that!

“Linda Appleton UPDATE: Linda is in ICU at St. David’s South. After CT scans today, her Neurologist has scheduled her surgery at 8AM tomorrow Sunday. I know all Cuzzins and Austin Square and Round Dance Association Square Dancers will be on their knees praying.”
“Prayers for Linda Appleton. She is at St. David’s South for a brain bleed from a recent fall. That’s all Terry and I know. As soon as one of us has more information, we will post. On your knees Cuzzins and all other Austin Square and Round Dance Association members”

Day 274 of 274 PLUS 1 UWC - Debarkation Day .
Today was the final day of the 9-month Ultimate World Cruise . Amazingly we made it thru the entire cruise with so many life-long friends . It is these friends (and crew) who have made this such the life-long dream come true. . THANK YOU ALL who traveled with us for the entire cruise , a major segment, or a mini-segment. You all are why this was so special, not the ports and places. It is the people!!!
ALSO THANK YOU to all the FB friends and family who have followed my posts daily since December 8th when we arrived in Miami for the Gala at the intercontinental Hotel December 9th

Another quick update on the adventures of Dan, Gail, Bruce, and Pam
Welcome to Bermuda . Beautiful sunny day with lots of humidity. We docked on the South end of the island at the Royal Naval Dockyard, Bermuda .
The dockyards were used by the British Navy for years up to 1957 when there was no need for any British Navy to be in this area. The base fell into a state of disrepair. Storms and lack of maintenance caused damage to many buildings. Beginning in the 1980s increased tourism to Bermuda stimulated interest in renovating the dockyard and turning it into a tourist attraction. Currently, cruise ships regularly land at the dockyard during summer months, like ours.

Welcome to St. John's, Newfoundland Labrador, Canada .
We finally made it here!!! Gail and I have been on two other transatlantic ships that were supposed to stop here, but got re-routed due to weather . 3rd time is a charm! .
St. John's is the capital and largest city of the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is located on the eastern tip of the Avalon Peninsula on the island of Newfoundland. The city spans 446.04 km2 (172.22 sq mi) and is the easternmost city in North America (excluding Greenland).

Amsterdam literally, "The Dam on the River Amstel" is the capital and most populated city of the Netherlands. It has a population of around 922,000 within the city proper. Located in the Dutch province of North Holland, Amsterdam is colloquially referred to as the "Venice of the North", for its large number of canals, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Amsterdam was founded at the mouth of the Amstel River, which was dammed to control flooding. Originally a small fishing village in the 12th century, Amsterdam became a major world port during the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th century, when the Netherlands was an economic powerhouse . Amsterdam was the leading centre for finance and trade as well as a hub of secular art production.

Cruising Update
Another quick update on the adventures of Dan, Gail, Bruce, and Pam
Per Bruce: Yesterday, August 16, we were in Alesund Norway. We didn't have a tour scheduled, so Pam and I spent several hours walking around town. The wind was chilly and it rained off and on, but a very enjoyable day. Had a late morning snack of Skilpadder. Very soft, like angel food cake with vanilla cream center topped with a creamy frosting. Very delicious.
Came across se eral yachts that were brand new. Don't know if they were for sale or not. Saw very old buildings dating back to early 1900's and very new modern buildings.
Then it was back to the ship for a quick nap before dinner.

Next was the Gate of the city that is the last of the four gates standing. It is leaning about 20% to the front due to the weight, but the city has fortified it so it won't fall over. Such a beautiful art of bricks (red and black). Next to the city of Lubec by crossing over "love bridge" over the river. Love bridge with hundreds of locks from lovers who lock in their love for one another.

We eventually ended up at the "Nuuksio Reindeer Park". OMG these 6 gorgeous reindeer are so cute and hungry . Nuuksio Reindeer Park offers a unique opportunity to learn about reindeer and see these magnificent animals up close. We were given some lichen (symbiotic partnership of two separate organisms, a fungus and an alga) to feed them. They don't bite so they just nibble and pull the food from our hands. They allowed us to pet them as long as we still had food to feed them. Each one of these 6 are rescued reindeer from various things.
Okay, I now want a pet reindeer!

Another quick update on the adventures of Dan, Gail, Bruce, and Pam
… off on a tour bus with an excellent guide to the first stop, Stonehenge. It is a prehistoric megalithic structure on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, England, two miles (3 km) west of Amesbury. It consists of an outer ring of vertical sarsen standing stones , each around 13 feet (4.0 m) high, seven feet (2.1 m) wide, and weighing around 25 tons , topped by connecting horizontal lintel stones . Inside is a ring of smaller bluestones rocks. Inside these are free-standing trilithons, two bulkier vertical sarsens joined by one lintel. The whole monument, now ruinous, is aligned towards the sunrise on the summer solstice and sunset on the winter solstice.
