Early morning we started the trek into the harbor up the Tagus River and we had to go under the 25 April Bridge . The 25 de Abril Bridge (Portuguese pronunciation) is a suspension bridge connecting the city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal , to the municipality of Almada on the left (south) bank of the Tagus River. It has a main span length of 1,013 metres (3,323 ft), making it the 48th longest suspension bridge in the world!

Welcome to Villefranche-Sur-Mer (Nice), France. I was here in 1984 in the US Navy on the Battleship USS New Jersey BB-62 on our way home from Lebanon as part of the multipeacekeeping forces there…
This cute little town hasn't changed much in 40 years except for a few more buildings and shops along the waterfront. Still a lot of outdoor cafés , restaurants and bars

“Woke up this morning in our little apartment in Venice, Italy…
Then we walked back to the hotel to pick up our backpacks and head to the water bus/taxi . After a 15 minute wait we jumped on the boat down the grand canal and to the railway station . Did a little more shopping and Bruce and Pam got Gelato since they didn't get any last night. Then walked into the station.”

“… finally after 180 days into this cruise I attempted to climb the rock wall. First thing, change into rock climbing shoes, so tight . Then the process of putting on the harness and when they cinched it up, well.... lets just say, it is a good thing that we are not having any more kids . They had me go up 3 sections at first and then let go to see if the equipment was working properly (it was). Then I started to climb the easy level and with me being fat and old it wasn't easy. Gail video the entire event and said she didn't think I could make it to the top to ring the bell . So I proved her wrong!!! I got to the top easier than I thought and rang the bell . Yay!!! . On the way down my left knee banged into the wall, no damage, but when I got to the bottom I fell on my back so the cute wall trainer girl (Paloma) just had to help me up. LOL . It was fun !!!”

“There also were hundreds of "Strawberry chickens (AKA. Flamingos). They walk so funny. I have never seen so many and then we will see thousands more later on the 2nd half of our excursion. We then also were surrounded by a pod of small dolphins called "common dolphin". They can be found all year round off the coast of Namibia . They eat small fish such as anchovies, sardines and squid and they can often be seen following fishing boats or herding prey together. Their colouring is dark grey back with grey and mustard-coloured shapes on the side. Their average size is around 2.5m and they weigh about 150kg. Calves are around 1m long and weigh 18kg. Very cute and playful around the boat .”

Good evening,
So sorry for the inconvenience.
I spoke with the expo hall staff to get my facts straight. I’m sorry, misunderstand . The expo center plan is, we need a name, your phone number and the date of your arrival. I will compile a list and send it to their office so they will be prepared. When you arrive at the center, stop at the office door, go inside to pay your fees, and they will give you a campsite number. The office will… I will NOT.
RV spots are sold on a first come first serve basis. They only have 4-50 amp spots. I cannot guarantee who will get the 50 amp spots .. the rest are 30 amps.
If you will send me your name, p/n and date of arrival, i will compile my list.
there will be a staff member at the center until 11:00 PM. After 11:00 PM, there will a security guard on the grounds all night to help you.
If you have any questions, feel free to call or text.
Thank you,
Gary and Linda Carlile (crlgary@aol.com Gary Carlile and copy to lindacarlile57@aol.com )

Did You Know?
If you see a control bar like this
when viewing a pdf (such as the RCS!), pressing the box icon with the arrowheads in it once will fit the whole page to the screen, but then… pressing it a second time will fit it “full width”, which is generally much easier to read!

We were looking for two very specific animals today. Either a leopard or a large male lion … Then the nice prize right down the street, a pride of 4 lions , 2 males and 2 females. They were on the road and walked right past us… Sipho (guide) said with how big all 4 stomachs were, breakfast was huge like maybe a water buffalo . They were so beautiful and majestic and could care less about us.

2024 Mid-Tex Feedback
I want to thank all those that attended the Mid-Tex Festival this year. I do hope that you had a great time while there dancing and socializing with friends.
I would like your comments on the Festival and how we can improve it next year. If you would please take a few minutes and let me know. I would like both positive and negative comments. I do not want to base future Festivals just on the negative comments. You can respond back to me at: RoundsbySkis@juno.com
Thank you for your time in doing this. I feel it was a great Festival this year and at the present time we did have a profitable festival where we did not lose money. There will be a very accurate report at our next ASRDA Meeting.
Again, Thank You and I look forward to your comments. Take care - - Ski's, Mid-Tex Chairman

“Welcome to Port Luis, Mauritius . Early this morning the captain docked the ship and the gangway ready to leave by 7am. WOW!!!
Very beautiful county and island . Port Luis is the capital city of Mauritius , in the Indian Ocean. It's known for its French Colonial architecture and the 19th century Champ de Mars horse racing track . The Caudan waterfront is a lively dining and shopping precinct. Nearby, vendors sell local produce and handicrafts at the huge Central Market. Such a great day with it at 78 degrees Fahrenheit and only little humidity and a cool wind blowing .”

The Taj Mahal is the world's most famous mausoleum and is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. The main mausoleum contains artistic replicas of the original graves, which are open to the public. We got to tour thru the mausoleum with foot/shoe booties. Such an intricate work of art.
