I've contacted several of the other District Treasurers around the State and the consensus is that we ARE sending in our rosters and dues this year. If a contrary decision is made later, we will remedy it then.

Please use your current roster (we all will know it's likely from March). It's your call whether to include members if their membership has expired during the shutdown. If your club doesn't have the funds to pay for a member that you put down, I will accept an IOU but I cannot say that the Federation will (we will worry about that later).

Please email me your rosters as soon as you can and no later than July 31st. For the ones listed as paid members, please follow-up with a check for $5/member listed (mail by Aug 10th).

    Email rosters ASAP: pdxtdbear@gmail.com

    Checks to:

    PO BOX 256

Mike is very ill.  He is in the ICU in AZ with bilateral pneumonia from MRSA (link).  He also has MRSA in his blood.  It sounds like he may even be intubated but I don't know for sure.  I don't know how long he has been in the hospital.

I reached out to his daughter but she is overwhelmed trying to answer everyone's questions about Mike.  This information will be coming out in the newsletter.  I'm going to try to get a hold of Johnny Preston and see if he can give me more information.

A thorough list of what's happening in the world of Virtual Square Dancing, compiled once again by Char Larson.

    Some thoughts from her:

"I hope people will join in.  The longer they hesitate. the more out of practice they'll be."

"I separated it into special, one-off dances (plus the A2 lessons) and regular weekly dances, plus helpful hints."

"At least it's better than just hearing about all the dancing we're missing."

"If anyone has questions you can refer them to me."

Her email address is available at the bottom of the attachment.
