To the Many Dear Friends of George & Sue Gillar –

This message is meant to be a HAPPY one … because George said it was supposed to be that way!

As you have probably already heard, George did not want a traditional funeral, but rather an actual celebration where all of his friends would come and remember him … as he was in life.

On Sunday, February 22, 2009, we will celebrate George’s 74th BIRTHDAY … and his LIFE.

George gave Sue (Gillar) “instructions” about how the money was to be spent … a hall has been rented (Austin Party Central) in Manchaca (south of Austin on Manchaca Rd) … dinner will be served … there will be music ... line dancing and C W dancing … Gary Bible will call a square dance … and there will be recollections of George.

This is to be a HAPPY time, where all of his many friends will come to remember him … just as he was in life.

There will be a brief ceremony starting at 1:00 PM.

Then, it is hoped that approximately 250 friends and family of George and Sue will go through a buffet line and be seated at the many tables being provided in a spacious room, chosen for this special event. It is hoped that everyone will be eating by 2:00.

Sue has ordered chicken fried steak and grilled chicken … so you can take your choice. If you wish, please bring a vegetable, salad or dessert to round out the meal. Bread and drinks will be provided.
